Every car rental company has its own general terms and conditions. For this reason, never be too shy to ask! In order to beware our customers from unnecessary phone calls or emails, we have prepared the answers of the most common frequently asked questions - specifically for La Palma 24 rent a car.

Is it possible to get the car directly from airport Santa Cruz de La Palma (SPC) after my arrival?

Of course! After picking up your luggage, take the elevator down to the parking deck "-S2" and follow the signs "Meeting Point". Our staff will be waiting for you there. They quickly prepare the needed papers and will hand over the rental car.

Is it possible to return the car at the airport when I leave the island?

This is no problem. Our staff will inform you about it during the handover of the rental car.

What should I do if I can't find you at the airport after landing?

This is usually not the case, because the staff of La Palma 24 rent a car is always reliable. If you have problems to find the "Meeting-Point", please call us under 0034-637 55 97 62. A staff member will pick you up and take you to your rental car.

Is it possible to take over or return the car on different locations too?

In this case, we kindly ask you to contact us by phone or to send us an e-mail so that we can discuss the details. Basically, it is no problem to realize the handover of the rental car at the port of Santa Cruz as well as in the area around our La Palma 24 office in Los Llanos. This area covers the area of the city of Los Llanos up to El Paso and down to the Atlantic Ocean to Puerto Naos and Tazacorte.

Will the La Palma 24 - Team help me to find the way from the airport to my holiday accommodation?

Of course our team will always help and assist you, as well as explaining to you the way from the airport to your holiday accommodation.

Do I get the contract in English?

No. The contract is in Spanish or German. But our team speaks English and will explain it to you. They will check together with you that all information added in the contract are correct, especially concerning the insurance or the chosen fuel level.

How is the car insured and what additional insurance options are available?

Included in the rent is a legal liability (the damage of third parties) in the amount of 50 million euro with full comprehensive cover CDW (Car Damage Waiver).

If you want to exclude the excess, La Palma 24 rent a car offers different tariffs depending on the vehicle model.

In addition we also offer insurance for glass and tire damages.

The insurance cover is just for rental cars on asphalt roads.

The theft protection insurance applies only to the rental car for the parts which are firmly connected to the vehicle. If you leave valuables such as navigation system, bags, mobile phones etc. inside the car you do so at your own risk.

Underbody damages are generally excluded from liability.

You will find all the details regarding the conclusion of supplemental insurance due the time of your booking.

What is included in the rental price?

Included is a liability insurance with fully comprehensive cover (CDW). Not including are fuel, penalties, if no insurance has been concluded damages on tires and rims, sills- or underbody damages as well as general damages caused by driving on unpaved roads. Damages of the passenger compartment or caused by driving with animals inside the vehicle are not covered either.

How full is the tank when I pick up the car?

With Autos La Palma 24 you can choose between the half/half and the full/empty service. With the half-half regulation, you will get a rental car with at least half full tank and return it with the same amount of fuel. If you do not have time to refuel the car, we will charge you the cost of the missing petrol and an extra service fee of 25 Euros. The full-empty regulation works like this: You pay the first tank filling with 60 to 75 Euros (depending on the chosen car group) - and you return the rental car with an empty tank.

Can I leave La Palma by car and go to another Island by ferry?

Yes. But you’ll need the confirmation from our office La Palma 24 in Los Llanos. Please note: If there are any problems, an accident or a breakdown on Tenerife, Gran Canaria or another Canary Island, our La Palma 24 service support can not help you there. In addition, the renter must pay all costs of the cars transfer back to La Palma.

Is it possible to register a second driver?

... and a third one – free of charge!

How long is one day of rental?

From the moment you received the car it is 24 hours. If the return is delayed a new rental day can be charged.

At what age can I rent a car?

If you are 18 years old and you are in possession of a valid driving license category 3 or B, we will let you hit the road!

When and how do I have to pay the rental car?

You can pay the amount during the handover in cash or by EC-, Master-, Maestro- or Visacard (except American Express). Of course it is also possible to transfer the amount in advance to our Spanish business account.

Excepted from this are clients who have chosen the "direct booking tariff" or if the due date of the payment is deviating from an offer.

What happens if I cancel my rental car reservation?

If you cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before your arrival, no fee will be charged.

Please note that different cancellation conditions may apply in combination with special offers or tariffs. These are shown for the respective offer on our website.

What do I have to do in case of an accident?

First of all: Don't Panic! Call immediately La Palma 24. We speak English and make us on the way to you as well as we inform the police if necessary. Our emergency telephone: 0034-637 55 97 62. We prepare on spot together with the police in Spanish the accident report.

In the case of an accident with personal injury call the ambulance with 112 or call 0034-637 55 97 62 and ask for "English".

Is it allowed to smoke inside the rental car?

No. Our rental cars are non-smoking vehicles. In the event of a breach, we reserve the right to charge a separate cleaning fee.
