Rental information for cars

Required documents

The renter, the driver and all additional drivers must present a valid driving license and a valid identity card or passport while handing over of the vehicle.

Driver's license printed with non Roman alphabet (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic etc.) must be complemented by an international driving license. For driving licenses from countries not part of the international driver's license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license.

Minimum age for renting a car

The minimum age for renting a rental car is 18 years and the driver must be in possession of a valid driving license of class B or class 3.

Accepted Credit Cards
Master-, Maestro or Visacard

Prepaid and debit cards, e.g. VISA Electron, will not be accepted. The card must be in the name of a driver, must be presented at the time of the vehicle collection and must be valid at this time. The amount charged to the card includes the rental fee as well as all additional extras and charges.

Depending of the vehicle model and tariff, a deposit with the amount in the amount of the self participation will be blocked on the card.

Direct booking tariff

When booking a "direct booking tariff", the payment will be charged with the total rental price (incl. booked extras and charges) prior to the rental. The driver and mode of payment shall be finalised at the time of reservation and cannot be changed. A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.

A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of 25,00 Euro via our hotline or online. Any payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded.

A cancellation is possible before the beginning of the rental period. This must be done in written form by the renter. The date of receipt is decisive. In the case of a cancellation the following fees will be charged on the already paid pre-payment (amount of the rent including the booked extras and fees):

Tariff “payment on site”

When booking a "payment on site tariff" the payment of the rental amount incl. booked extras will be charged upon arrival on site. A booking can be changed or cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) via our hotline or online.

Liability conditions

The insurance cover provided from the car rental company, covers the renter and the authorized additional driver against the legal liability (the damage of third parties) in the amount of 50 million euro, security deposits and legal costs which can be demanded by the driver. The responsibility of the renter, in relation caused to the damage to the rented vehicle, is fully covered by theft or fire; the remaining damages caused by the renter are limited to the corresponding excess. The renter of the vehicle can exclude the excess by paying a surcharge. In case of a non-performance of the provisions of this contract, which are mandatory for the renter, all insurance policies will be cancelled. The renter is responsible for what is happening with the vehicle and must pay any possible charges. Explicitly excluded from the cover is loss, theft/ robbery or damage of objects transported in the rented vehicle. Damage to tires and rims will be charged to the renter.

Tyre and windscreen protection

The insurance covers the costs for damages on tires, the windshield, the side windows and the rear window with a self participation of 0.00 Euro. If the renter does not have this insurance cover, he or she is liable to the full amount of the damage.

Extras

One-way rentals

If the desired one-way rental is possible, respective charges may apply. For unannounced one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.

Additional driver

There is no charge for additional drivers. Only persons mentioned in the rental agreement with a valid driving license are permitted to drive the vehicle.

Baby and child seats

Baby and child seats are provided free of charge upon prior request.

Vehicle refueling

The rented vehicles are returned with the same tank level as they were taken over. The rental vehicle can be taken over with a full tank and returned with empty tank on request. A fee of 60 to 75 Euro (depending on vehicle model) will be charged. Please note that no refunds will be given for unused fuel.

Premium location fee

In case of rentals at certain stations, e.g. at the Port of Santa Cruz de La Palma, a location fee occurs.
